About Us
Trained to Represent. Built to Advocate.
Before founding Gold Bridge Tax Group, Clay Hogan built his foundation in scientific research — designing and leading laboratory research projects, directing research teams, and earning recognition including a National Institutes of Health research fellowship. Research taught him what matters: precision, documentation, and never accepting an answer without verifying it.
That precision was sharpened over four years as a premedical intern, shadowing a medical doctor across the full scope of family medicine. Clay conducted detailed medical interviews of patients ahead of the doctor’s own examination, often continuing alongside the doctor as the interview progressed, and assisted with surgical procedures — learning firsthand how a careful diagnostic process is built, step by step, from the patient’s first word to a confirmed conclusion.
Then life presented a more important assignment. Clay stepped away from his studies to take sole custody of his son and raise him — a decision that reshaped everything, including his career. As a self-represented litigant, he successfully argued cases in custody, child support, and housing court — prevailing repeatedly against experienced attorneys by out-researching, out-preparing, and out-documenting the other side. But preparation is only half of it. Some things can’t be bought or trained: the presence to command a room, and the composure to stand in any court or hearing room and hold ground. That comes naturally.
That experience revealed a calling: representing people who need someone in their corner. Today, Clay does exactly that as a Registered New York State Tax Preparer — authorized to prepare returns and represent clients before the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.
Tax preparation is documentation, precision, and knowing the rules better than anyone else in the room. When New York State sends a notice, you want someone who reads the fine print, builds the record, and doesn’t back down.
